Supervets once again took to the race track under near to ideal conditions with a light breeze from the north. Small fields are currently dominating our numbers, but this aside some interesting racing unfolds each week. Yesterday saw a change to the back marks in a field without any recognised scratch men. David Phillips and Laurie Fitzsimons took up the challenge and acquitted themselves well as usual. The sixteen minute bunch led by Tony Spark, John Bell and Terry Robinson controlled the race and together with fifteen minute rider John Watson stayed away to cross the line well ahead of the rest of the field.

Results:

1. T Spark, 2. J Watson, 3. J Bell, 4. K Clarke, 5. R Buckwell, 6. J Tatchell.

Fastest time: L Fitzsimons – 1.03.53.

Next week’s race will be a handicap event over three laps. Entries by 9.30 please.
