Yesterday (19/11) the Supervets held their weekly race at the Paraparap circuit and the weather was fine and sunny with a light breeze from the west. This was a race of opportunities and the middle-markers generated a fast pace and showed their superiority with Phil Preston and Jeremy Tatchell dominating. However, the eleven and thirteen minute bunches came together in the second lap and built up a gap through the hard work of Terry Robinson, John Bell, Ross West, Ian Sumner and Brian Long. To make a difference they had to stay clear of the following bunch. Dale Jennings made a contribution and Tony Spark was working hard as always. In the final lap the remnants of all the front groups formed a large pack and as a result dropped several riders along the way. Phil Preston and Jeremy Tatchell commanded the finishing group dictating the pace. Despite the efforts of Ian Sumner and John Bell , Phil and Jeremy crossed the line together much as they had started.

Results: 1. P Preston, 2. J Tatchell, 3. T Spark, 4. I Sumner, 5. R Buckwell, 6. J Bell, 7. R West, 8. T Robinson.

Fastest time: D Pike – 1.02.30. Winner’s time: 1.11.50.

Next Week’s race is a three lap handicap. Entries by 9.30 please.
