A good roll-up of riders signed on for one of the final days in 2014. A field of 24 faced the starter as the fifteen minute group rolled off the start line. A strong threatening bunch of six riders followed four minutes behind the limit riders of John Watson, Andrew Thornton, Andrew Kennon and Brian Long. Interestingly Gordon Spargo who over the past weeks has ridden strongly hovered a further two minutes behind. All three bunches promised to form a formidable challenge to the back-markers. The fifteen minute limit riders kept the field at bay for one and a half laps when they were forced to combine with the bunch of twelve riders all working hard to stay clear of the back-markers. Approaching the line for the second time Gordon Spargo put in a powerful breakaway with Ross West which proved later to be effective. Meanwhile the one minute thirty bunch of Bill McConnell, Carl Judd and Peter Ladd were forming a strong challenge supported by Phil Preston, Laurie Fitzsimons, Rob Nicholls and Barry Clay. The third lap saw the two leaders maintain their gap despite the pressure from behind and defying all odds the back-markers took control of the remaining field and crossed the line closely behind Gordon Spargo and Ross West. Gordon posted his first win with the Supervets in style.

Results: 1. G Spargo, 2. R West, 3. C Judd, 4. B McConnell, 5. T Collie, 6. P Ladd, 7. B Clay, 8. L Fitzsimons.

Fastest time: Carl Judd – 1.00.49.
