Quiet and unassuming Rod has been part of the club for over 15 yrs as rider, past committee member and race referee. Rod in his time on the committee has been instrumental in securing grants for the club and is always willing to help the club out when a hand is required, so read on

Favourite Movies: Any Action Movies eg. Lethal Weapon & Die Hard series
Favourite Music: depends on mood. Anything from Country & Western to Rock n Roll
Favourite Food: love most food. Have a massive sweet tooth !!!!
Childhood Ambition: to lead a happy & healthy life. (boring I Know)
How long have you been riding? Started racing in 1978 with Blackburn Amateurs as a 13 y.o.  Raced with Geelong Amateurs from 1982 to 1986. Had a 12-month break then joined Norwood Professional club (S.A.)  & raced there from 1988 to 1992. Had another 2 year break & then joined Geelong West Pro‘s & raced there from 1995 to 1999. Joined the GSCC in 1999 as a 35 y.o. & have been a member since.
What other sports have you been involved in? indoor cricket
Age Group and Handicap mark? 50 to 54 & second limit in club races
Why did you join the club? To achieve and maintain a good level of fitness. Maintain friendship with people who have a common interest.
Do you have any goals to achieve? some personal. to remain happy, healthy & still be competitive as I get older
What’s your greatest racing achievement? Two stand out. First is a bronze medal at the 1989 Australian Professional Track champs in the Team Pursuit (Shepparton). Second is 1st Port Broughton (S.A) 110 km Professional Open in 1990 (handicap 5 Min)
Riding experiences:
Best? . Best = above 2 results & top ten placings in Tour of the Riverland (Berri S.A.) in 1988 & 1990
Worst? Bad fall in 2000 “Murray to Moyne “
What’s your favourite training or social ride? 1. around the SurfCoast.

2. around the Bellarine peninsula

2. Adelaide hills (loved them in the 1980’s & 1990’s )

How often do you ride? generally, 3 to 4 times per week
