History:

How long have you been riding? Rode from an early age as a kid, started getting into it as a triathlete in the mid 90’s, had a break for a while but got back into it about 5 years ago and slowly increased my level of activity.

When did you start racing? April ’13.

What other sports have you been involved in? Skiing, Basketball, Baseball, Footy, Swimming, Cricket, Sailing, Tennis, Triathlon.

Age Group and Handicap mark – 45-49, off scratch at club races

Goals:

Why did you join the club? To improve my cycling ability and challenge myself a bit further. Meet some good folk with a common interest.

Do you have any goals to achieve? I’d like to help more people get into cycling, especially racing. Personally though, I’d like to try and reach my potential as a cyclist.

Your greatest racing achievement? No doubt, the win at the 2014 Victorian & South Pacific Champs in the Criterium at Maryborough. Don’t have to be the best rider in the field to win a bike race.

Riding experiences:

Best? . Every day on a bike is a good one but standouts would be, the above win, riding in the Pyrenees during the 2012 TdF & going sub 10 hours at the last two 3 Peaks rides.

Worst? Being smashed by Xavier 2 weeks ago and watching Paul Beretta spin away from me up the back of Falls Creek whilst I dealt with cramps and the unrelenting steepness of the climb. Crashing earlier this year wasn’t much fun either.

What’s your favourite training or social ride? Lorne and back home to Torquay.

How often do you ride?  Usually 6 days a week.

Equipment:

Race Bike: 1 week old, Pinarello Dogma 65.1 Think2.

Training Bike: As above

Other Bikes: TT bike is a 20 year old giant TCR (the original)

Dream Bike: Dogma F8 or maybe a Baum
